“受保护的状态," means a status or characteristic of an individual that is protected by State or Federal law or the policies of the University. Colorado Mesa University Board of Trustees Policy Manual:
"The University prohibits discrimination in employment-related and student-related decisions…Harassment based on protected status is a form of discrimination and is also prohibited... Any employee or student who engages in prohibited discrimination, 骚扰, or violence may be 纪律d, 出院, 或驱逐出境."
"The University shall include in its policies for employees and students a policy prohibiting such conduct, and setting forth a method for reporting the prohibited conduct. The policies shall also provide for the investigation of complaints and corrective action" (Section 3.4).
